The 1960 24 Hours of Le Mans was the 28th Le Mans Endurance Grand Prix and took place on 25 and 26 June 1960 at the Circuit de la Sarthe.
The prospect of a duel between the championship-leading 3-litre (180 cu in) Ferraris and the championship-leading 2-litre (120 cu in) Porsches was enough to attract a large crowd to the 24 Hours and around 200,000 spectators had gathered to Europe's classic sports car race, around the 13.5 km (8.4 mile) course.
Faced with the obligation to win to win the World Championship, Ferrari showed up well prepared and with 13 entries, including official and private teams.
Presented at the Paris Motor Show in 1959, the Ferrari 250 GT SWB (Short Wheel Base) had a career as successful as it was short, collecting numerous victories, in particular at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1960 and 1961.
This model reproduces the race number n.18 of Team Nart which obtained fifth place.
