1/18 BBR 1961 Ferrari 250 GTO Test Monza Driver Willy Mairesse Stirling Moss Resin Car Model Limited 200 Pieces
The Ferrari 250 GTO was born and developed in every smallest detail solely for racing use.
The idea came in 1960 to Enzo Ferrari who asked his engineer in charge of the experience department Giotto Bizzarrini to create, in view of the new regulations imposed by the 1962 World Championship which would take place only with GT cars, a small, light sports car. and very fast that it exploited the 3-liter V12 engine of the 250 series
. In a short time and using a Ferrari 250 GT “short wheelbase”, chassis no. 1791 GT, Bizzarrini built a prototype.
This first prototype (initially signed 539/62 Comp., Then 539/64 Comp.) Was completed in record time in mid-August and was tested during the 1961 Italian GP in Monza by Willy Mairesse. This test yielded excellent results also thanks to the help of Stirling Moss who tested the car during the F1 tests and set a time of 1 45 ”4, such that Enzo Ferrari said“ We have never seen a GT in front of single-seaters ”.
The model we propose is perfectly replicated, from the interiors to the bodywork of the time, to the particular painting.
Unpublished model in 1/18 scale, from this prototype one or perhaps the only true four-wheeled masterpiece car in the world is born: the Ferrari 250 GTO 1962.
