Build a transparent, functional engine model in two to three hours – and at a certain stage of construction, you can decide whether you want to build the Beetle engine or the Bulli engine! All components are easy to assemble and screw together. And best of all: you don't need any glue!
A German economic miracle – like no other German engine design, the VW boxer engine symbolises Germany's rise to become one of the world's most powerful industrial nations. In 1946, series production of the air-cooled 4-cylinder engine with its characteristic engine sound began together with the VW Beetle. In 1949, this engine finally found its way into the VW T1, the world-famous ‘Bulli’. This engine is still one of the most widely built vehicle engines of all time – and is revered by countless classic car fans around the globe. With this ‘2-in-1’ package, you can experience a transparent functional model of the 4-cylinder engine as used in the Beetle and the Bulli. The special feature: at the end of the build, you decide whether it should be the Beetle or the Bulli engine!
For each of the two engine versions, you will find the appropriate assembly instructions for the kit as well as the development history of the vehicles closely associated with it. Contemporary photos provide a deep insight into the history of the Volkswagen factory. The reversible book included ensures that you always use the correct instructions – no mistakes possible!
