Imola 04 November 2022
A date destined to enter the history of the Prancing Horse. On Saturday 29 October, during the gala evening staged on the occasion of the Ferrari World Finals at the Imola Autodrome, the veil was removed from the 499P, the hypercar which marks the return of the Maranello company to the top class of the FIA World Endurance Championship starting from the 2023 season. The racing car made its public appearance moving in fully electric mode, reaching the stage from which the top management of the company founded by Enzo Ferrari presented the objectives for the near future.
The last official Ferrari at the 24H of Le Mans was the 312P, an interval that lasted exactly 50 years, which is the number placed on the car.
John Elkann, Ferrari Executive Chairman: “The 499P allows us to return to competing for overall victory in the world endurance championship. When we decided to commit to this project, we followed a path of innovation and development faithful to our tradition which sees the track as the ideal terrain for experimenting with cutting-edge technical solutions, before transferring them into our road cars. We faced this challenge with humility, but aware of a history that has allowed us to win more than 20 world titles and 9 overall victories at the 24 Hours of Le Mans."
For BBR too, the commitment will be maximum in creating this presentation version which will be the queen of endurance racing at Le Mans next year.
