1/12 Werk83 1985 Porsche 956K #19 1000km Spa Brun Motorsport Stefan Bellof, Thierry Boutsen Diecast Car Model
In the 1000 km race at Spa-Francorchamps on 1 September 1985, Stefan Bellof formed a driver duo with the Belgian Thierry Boutsen. After Bellof had caught up with the leading Jacky Ickx, he tried to overtake Ickx in the Eau Rouge corner on lap 77. This resulted in a collision between the two cars, which caused Stefan Bellof to crash head-on into the crash barrier. The impact was so violent that the crash barrier could not withstand the impact and his Porsche was completely destroyed. The emergency services tried in vain to save Bellof's life. As a result of the accident, the race was abandoned after 847.778 kilometres and five hours of driving. The race was won by Mauro Baldi, Bob Wollek and Riccardo Patrese in the Lancia LC2/85 with a lead of two minutes over the Porsche of Derek Bell and Hans-Joachim Stuck.
