The 1964 24 Hours of Le Mans was the 32nd edition of the French race and took place on 20 and 21 June 1964 on the Circuit de la Sarthe, reduced in 1956 to a length of 13.461 km after works to increase the safety of the area of the pits following the tragedy of 1955. It was also the ninth race of the World Sports Prototype Championship of that year.
After trying unsuccessfully to acquire Ferrari the previous year, Ford decided to challenge the Commendatore on the racetrack in what is remembered by enthusiasts as the Ferrari-Ford War.
This model reproduces the Ferrari that raced with the Ireland - Maggs drivers in the Maranello dealership team. Peculiarities of this car are the white nose and blue wheels and it came sixth.
