Product Description
1/18 BBR 1964 Ferrari 250 GTO (Red) Car Model Limited 250 Pieces
The Ferrari 250 GTO is both a road and a racing car produced by Ferrari in the early sixties. It is considered the Ferrari par excellence and is still one of the best known and most appreciated cars of all time.
The number 250 indicates the displacement of each cylinder of its 3000 cc V12 engine while GTO stands for "Gran Turismo Omologata". This acronym was not used for several years until the presentation of the Ferrari 288 GTO in 1984.
During the raging of the Cobra-Ferrari war, to maintain the competitiveness of the model in the races of the International Championship for GT Manufacturers, Ferrari put on the track for the 1964 season an evolution of the model called 250 GTO II series or 250 GTO/64, characterized by a different bodywork and various refinements. Three cars were built to this standard, while another four Series I cars were fitted with the new bodywork.
