The most important innovations present in this model concern the rear arrangement of the gearbox and the rear suspension with independent wheels. To improve road holding, the 280 HP dry sump V12 was adopted: being lower, it could be mounted at a lower height, thus lowering the center of gravity.
The 275 GTB Berlinettta thus replaced the 250 GT Lusso and was presented at the Paris Motor Show in 1964.
