About the original:
The Honda CB750 is considered one of the most important motorbikes in motorbike history. It was first introduced by Honda as a production model in 1969 and revolutionised the motorbike world with its four-cylinder in-line engine, a technology previously found mainly in racing motorbikes.
The racing version, the Honda CB750 Racing Type, was specially developed for use in competitions such as the Daytona 200. In this famous race in 1970, the CB750 Racing Type achieved a historic victory. American rider Dick Mann led Honda to first place with an impressive average speed of 164.3 km/h, making the CB750 an icon.
The CB750 was Honda's answer to the up-and-coming competition and was characterised by its reliability, performance and advanced technology. Highlights included the air-cooled 4-cylinder engine, Keihin CR carburettors and an advanced 4-in-1 exhaust system. These features made it not only a winning racing motorbike, but also a popular model for road riders worldwide.
