Product Description
1/18 Schuco 1959-1974 Steyr-Puch Haflinger (Blue) Diecast Car Model
In 1956, the Austrian Armed Forces decided to purchase a small, all-terrain vehicle that would be particularly suitable for use in medium-heavy terrain and in medium mountainous regions. Furthermore, the vehicle was to have a payload of at least 500 kilograms and the lowest possible empty weight. Under the technical direction of chief engineer Dr. Erich Ledwinka, Steyr-Puch in Graz began developing this off-road vehicle, which later became famous as the "Haflinger". During the production period of the "Haflinger", from 1959 to 1974, a total of 16647 examples of this extremely all-terrain all-rounder were produced at the Steyr-Puch plant in Graz. It is remarkable that more than 13,000 Haflingers were delivered to exactly 110 different countries around the world.
