Ferrari 812 GTS, the most powerful spider on the market
Exactly 50 years after the introduction of the last front-engined V12 spider in the Ferrari range, the 812 GTS marks the triumphant return of this type of model, which has played a fundamental role in the brand's history since its origins. The history of the Ferrari V12 spiders is dotted with legendary models, starting with the 166 MM of 1948, a real racing grand tourer which in 1949 was able to win the Mille Miglia and the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the two endurance races most prestigious in the world. The last representative of this large family is the 1969 365 GTS4, also called Daytona Spider after the famous Ferrari triumph at the 24 Hours of Daytona in 1967, when two official 330 P4s and the 412 P of the North America Racing Team collided lined up in front of everyone before crossing the finish line.

Since then, the architecture with a front V12 engine had no longer been proposed by the Maranello company on a standard spider car; instead, four limited special edition models were produced, namely the 550 Barchetta Pininfarina in 2000, the Superamerica in 2005, the SA Aperta in 2010 and, most recently, the F60 America in 2014.
