The Boeing B-17G Flying Fortress was the final and most heavily armed production variant of the legendary American heavy bomber used extensively during World War II. Introduced in late 1943, the B-17G featured a distinctive chin turret to counter the deadly frontal attacks by German fighters, bringing the total number of .50 caliber machine guns onboard to 13. With a crew of ten, it was capable of flying high-altitude, long-range bombing missions and delivering up to 8,000 pounds of bombs deep into enemy territory.
